Seven Manx juniors represented Merseyside in this years championships the highlights being 3 bronze medals, from Lauren Whelan in the Inter Girls, Sinead Kaneen in the Junior Girls and James Green in the Junior Boys.

| 3rd May 2009 | U.K. Younger Age Group Racewalking Championships, Victoria Park London
Championship win for James Green in the Under 15 boys, Lauren Whelan was runner up in the U17 ladies division and Manx Harriers picked up the team award in the under 15 girls event.

A few pictures taken by Bronwen on lap one of the winter league.
Round 1 got underway in good conditions with 72 walkers taking part.
Class wins for Steve Partington in the 10k, Enid Watson in the 5k.
Adam Cowin won the junior 3k
Josh Looker the junior 2k and Daniel Scarffe the junior 1k.

Visiting athlete Charlie Pass was clear winner of the run - sadly I was not quick enough to get a picture of him. Ladies run winner was Ruth Croome. Peter Kaneen won the walk and under 17 Lauren Whelan was first female.
Good turnout and good weather and good beer in the Baltic afterwards

Weather was dry and mostly sunny but rather breezy particularly on Saturday.
